North of Ireland Golf Championship Tees Off with Magners!
The Magners North of Ireland Golf Championships, one of the Province’s most prestigious golfing tournaments teed off again in July.

The Championship continues to attract some of the most talented golfers in Ireland. This year was no exception with the organisers successfully catering for over 300 competitors, who battled it out over 5 days to win one of the top amateur titles in Irish golf; the ‘Magners North of Ireland Golf Champion 2007.
Nicola McCleery, Marketing Manager Magners Original Cider said:
“The Golfing Union of Ireland (Ulster Branch) is to be congratulated on organising one of Northern Ireland’s most celebrated and popular sporting events. We are now in our fifth year of what has proven to be an extremely successful partnership with the Ulster Branch and representatives from Royal Portrush Golf Club. We are confident that the association of the event with the Magners brand will continue to be extremely successful and will continue to raise the profile of the Magners Brand”.
She concluded by thanking former winner Rory McIlroy and last year’s winner Darren Crowe for finding time in their busy schedule to launch this year’s event.
Mr P J Collins, Chairman of the Golfing Union of Ireland (Ulster Branch) at the launch said:
“The Ulster Branch is proud of their long association with Royal Portrush Golf Club in running the biggest major Amateur Tournament in Ireland, first played in 1947. This is the fifth year that Magners has sponsored the event and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking them for their continued support. We know the combination of the biggest Championship, one of the world’s great Golf Courses, Magners Original Cider and good weather in the holiday week is always an unbeatable combination”
