Magners Light Scoops Top Marketing Award
The 2006 CIM Marketing Awards is a premier awards event that salutes the best in marketing, ranging from young start up enterprises to mature global players. This year's event took place in October in the Waterfront Hall, where over 400 guests and competitors celebrated in the anticipation of their entries winning at a black tie event hosted by ex Krypton Factor presenter, Gordon Burns.

Magners Light - the new addition to the highly successful brand, Magners Original was presented with first place for the Agri Foods Award. Success at the prestigious CIM Awards highlighted the industry's recognition of Magners Light's integrated marketing campaign "The Lightest Light" communicating the product's inherent lightness in terms of calories. Magners Light is being heavily supported in its introductory stage by a significant marketing investment encompassing TV, outdoor, press advertising and enlightening consumer and trade promotions.
Magners Light was recognised as having demonstrated outstanding tangible results relating to strategic marketing, market impact and commercial success. Nicola McCleery, Marketing Manager said of winning the award;
"We are absolutely delighted to have gained recognition of our successful launch of Magners Light by such a recognised Professional body within the brand's first year. We have ambitious plans for our low calorie Magners Light and are confident that now with the CIM's endorsement that Magners Light will be another leading light in the Northern Ireland's LAD market."
Magners Light was launched on the summer solstice, the longest and lightest day of the year in Belfast's Potthouse, with its contemporary feel the venue was perfect for the party. The launch was backed by an ongoing strong advertising campaign, "The Lightest Light" in which Magners light clarifies the core proposition - "light" as lower in calories, not alcohol and not taste.
